In 1950s Czechoslovakia, police captain Hakl is tasked with probing a jewelry heist. The trail from a breached safe deposit box points to a familiar thief, suggesting a straightforward case. However, the situation quickly becomes complicated. Even after being removed from the investigation, Hakl persists independently. His pursuit places him in a precarious position.
