The Snail and the Whale

This half-hour animated film, suitable for the entire family, is adapted from the beloved book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler. “The Snail and the Whale” is a cherished classic that tells the story of an adventurous young snail eager to explore the world. Despite the other snails’ insistence that she remain in place, she sends out a request for a “Lift wanted around the world.” Her plea is eventually answered by a massive grey-blue humpback whale, who takes her on a journey across the oceans. Together, they encounter towering icebergs, distant lands, fiery volcanoes, and golden beaches. The snail is thrilled by the amazing sights, but soon she begins to feel overwhelmed by her own smallness in such a vast world.
