The Hollow Crown
“The Hollow Crown” is a collection of British TV films that bring to life the historical plays of William Shakespeare. The first season adapts Shakespeare’s second series of historical plays, known as the Henriad, which includes “Richard II,” “Henry IV, Part I,” and “Henry IV, Part II” (presented as a single film split into two parts), as well as “Henry V.” The second season, titled “The Wars of the Roses,” draws from Shakespeare’s initial series of historical plays. It covers “Henry VI: Part I,” “Henry VI: Part II,” “Henry VI: Part III” (combined into two films for the series), and “Richard III.”
