
Nonni und Manni
“Nonni and Manni” is a children’s TV series created through a collaboration between Iceland and West Germany. It premiered on West Germany’s ZDF channel on December 26, 1988, and consisted of six episodes, concluding on January 1, 1989. The series is adapted from a book of the same name by Jón Sveinsson, a well-known Icelandic author of children’s literature. Sveinsson, affectionately called “Nonni,” drew inspiration from his childhood experiences with his brother Ármann, known as “Manni,” for his writing. The series was filmed across locations in Iceland, West Germany, and Norway.
