16 and Pregnant

“16 and Pregnant” is a reality TV show from the United States that premiered on MTV on June 11, 2009. The series chronicles the experiences of pregnant teenage girls in high school as they face the challenges of teenage pregnancy. Each episode focuses on a different girl, starting when she is between 4 ¹⁄2 to 8 months pregnant and concluding when her baby is a few months old. The show is presented in a documentary style, featuring animated highlights on notebook paper before commercial breaks. The success of “16 and Pregnant” has led to several spin-offs, including “Teen Mom,” “Teen Mom 2,” and “Teen Mom 3,” which follow the lives of four girls from each season of “16 and Pregnant” as they embark on their journey through early motherhood. As of July 2013, casting for the fifth season of the series is underway.
