Orlando is facing the end of his life. Accepting his destiny, he desires nothing more than to be alone with his vices—alcohol, drugs, and his pet hermit crab. However, his wish for isolation is disrupted when he is awakened by Jean-Luc, a relentlessly talkative Frenchman who exists as a voice within his mind. Now, alongside battling cancer, Orlando must contend with Jean-Luc’s constant barrage of questions and remarks, as well as the unsettling realization that Jean-Luc is gradually seizing control of all his senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch.
