Parallel Sons
Seth is a young man with a passion for art and an interest in Black pop culture, living a stagnant life in a small Adirondack village. He has a complex relationship with Kristen, who desires a romantic connection that he vehemently refuses. One night, while closing the café where he works, Seth is confronted by a young Black man attempting a robbery at gunpoint, but the man collapses due to illness. Seth decides to help him, taking him to a family cabin to recover. The man, named Knowledge, is an escapee from a nearby prison, and as Seth cares for him, they start to form a fragile friendship. Tension arises when the sheriff discovers Seth is sheltering a fugitive, leading to an inevitable showdown. The film also explores the dynamics between fathers and their children in its subplots.
