Non Plus Ultras
NON PLUS ULTRAS is a comedy infused with social commentary, offering a satirical glimpse into a brief period in the lives of five ardent supporters of a Prague football club, known as ultras or hooligans. These individuals are deeply immersed in the world of football, idolizing their “world-renowned” English counterparts and emulating them without question. The unofficial leader of this group is Bejcak, portrayed by David Novotny, a naturally authoritative and charismatic man in his early thirties. Although not unintelligent, Bejcak often uses foreign words in slightly inappropriate contexts. The oldest in the group is Tycka, played by Vladimir Dlouhy, a solitary forty-year-old whom Bejcak has taken under his wing. Tycka stands out due to his age difference. Among the younger members is Pejsek, a stuttering youth played by Karel Zima, who is passionately obsessed with everything “English.” He is joined by the not-so-bright Potapec, played by Michal Novotny, and the nimble Vocko, portrayed by Matej Hadek, who is always concocting new mischievous schemes.
