Lost on Purpose

Set in the lush San Joaquin Valley, our tale follows Elizabeth James, known as Ms. Liz, who runs a third-generation dairy farm with a mix of gin-fueled grit and determination, all while staying independent from the region’s powerful co-ops. To keep the farm running, she hires five rebellious ranch hands who prefer to live life on the edge, prioritizing fun over responsibility. However, their indulgence in women, alcohol, and brawls inevitably leads to chaos. With the farm facing its third consecutive year of financial losses, Ms. Liz finds herself under pressure from Delbert Furgeson, the owner of the largest local co-op, who is eager to buy her out. This only fuels Ms. Liz’s defiance, sparking a heated rivalry between them. The story also unfolds through the perspectives of the ranch hands.
