In a small town in China’s semi-rural Hebei province, a series of murders sends shockwaves through the community. The story unfolds through the eyes of Jing (Su Xiaotong), a teenage schoolgirl who finds herself drawn into the investigation while also grappling with her emerging sexuality. As she navigates the incompetence and authoritarian nature of the police, along with the town’s conservative and restrictive mindset, Jing starts to form her own ideas about the mystery.
