
Hanachan no misoshiru
Yasutake Shingo, a newspaper journalist known primarily for his sincerity, encounters Matsunaga Chie, a student at a music college, and they begin a romantic relationship. Shingo’s days become increasingly joyful and vibrant thanks to Chie’s spirited nature. She has a passion for laughter, singing, and enjoying food. After a year and a half, Chie secures a job as a music teacher. However, Shingo receives the devastating news that Chie has been diagnosed with breast cancer. After careful consideration, he decides to propose to her, offering his commitment to spend their lives together. This proposal gives Chie the strength to proceed with the surgery she had been contemplating. Eventually, Chie starts teaching their 5-year-old daughter, Hana, essential life skills like doing laundry, cleaning, and cooking, ensuring that even in her absence, her daughter and husband will be able to manage.
