Dolores
In defiance of the gender norms of the 1950s, Dolores Huerta collaborates with fellow activist Cesar Chavez to establish the nation’s inaugural farm workers’ union. Initially focused on racial and labor rights, the movement soon evolves into a battle for gender equality within the union itself, ultimately leading to Dolores’s departure. Amidst the challenges of raising 11 children, navigating three marriages, and surviving a brutal assault by a San Francisco tactical police unit, Dolores develops a vision that intertwines her emerging feminist ideals with the pursuit of racial and class justice.
