Darkness in Tenement 45

Sixteen-year-old Joanna has been residing with her domineering Aunt Martha in a rundown NYC apartment complex ever since a violent incident left her grappling with an overwhelming sensation she calls the “darkness.” Unbeknownst to her, just weeks after her arrival, a biological threat from the Soviet Union would result in the building being sealed off, trapping the residents inside. A month has passed since their confinement began. As food supplies dwindle and Martha’s contentious leadership grows, Joanna realizes she must confront both her inner darkness and her aunt to rescue the tenants. But can she assume control without succumbing completely to the darkness within her?
