Captains Courageous

Harvey Cheyne, Jr., the world’s second wealthiest individual, is a pampered orphan who experiences both a cigar and the ocean while en route to England for boarding school. Overcome by seasickness, he falls overboard and is saved by Dan Troop, a crew member of a Gloucester fishing vessel. He spends three months at sea under the guidance of the strict yet just Captain Troop, who offers fair pay of $10.50 a month, with the condition that those who don’t work don’t eat. It’s a challenging and perilous life, requiring Harvey to mature significantly through adversity and misfortune.
