In a grim and twisted reinterpretation of “Dante’s Inferno,” presented in the gruesome style of films like “Hostel” and “High Tension,” an independent 18-year-old named Danielle flees her abusive foster home by accepting a ride from a seemingly friendly but deranged man who calls himself Virgil. Driven by his distorted religious convictions, Virgil harbors a deep-seated vendetta against women. Danielle soon discovers that her rescuer is far from a savior when she wakes up partially unclothed and shackled in Virgil’s basement. Subjected to Virgil’s brutal “moral cleansing” rituals, which involve torturous ordeals that could end her life at any moment, Danielle faces a critical decision: to resist and fight back or to descend into the same madness as her captor. However, Virgil is unaware that Danielle might be more than capable of outsmarting his twisted psychological games.
