The new Thai film “1448 Love Among Us,” directed by a man, explores the relationship between two women. Its promotional poster features the tagline, “A girl-on-girl relationship is something men would never understand.” The narrative is similar to the first segment of the American TV movie “If These Walls Could Talk 2,” created by women, which starred Vanessa Redgrave and Marian Seldes and was set in 1961. Unlike “1448 Love Among Us,” “If These Walls Could Talk 2” did not market itself as a story that certain audiences would fail to comprehend.
